OUR APPROACH
Whether you are completely new to the equestrian world or you are looking to further develop your skills we have a wide range of instructors including horsemanship, riding lessons and FEEL therapy.
OUR LESSON HORSES
Many of the horses in our lesson program have been rescued by Second Chance Cheekye Ranch and rehabilitated by our team of incredible volunteers. Often times these are horses rescued from uncertain fates and given a second chance here at Cheekye Ranch. While many of our rescues move on to new, loving homes our lesson program offers them the opportunity to have a home here at Cheekye. Our approach to training all of our horses is rooted in natural horsemanship with a focus on building a deep mutual respect and the understanding of how horses communicate and learn.
Our instructors
Molly Maquire
Molly has grown up surrounded by horses from a young age, starting at 6 months old riding out on trails with her child minder then continuing to persuade her parents at the age of four to start up riding lessons in the UK.
This passion led to a trainee position at 18 years old working with stunt horses in the film and TV industry in Wales. Here, she learnt many styles of riding, including classical dressage, Cossack riding and carriage driving.
Following on from that, Molly decided to rescue her own horse from the bullfighting trade in Malaga, south of Spain. After 4 years together, Pajarito is her most trusted ride and loves the work they do together.
Alongside bringing Pajarito on, Molly has run a backing and training business in the UK for the last 5 years before deciding to bring that business to Squamish, BC and SCCR!
Molly is currently qualified to teach both riding and horsemanship lessons, and available to help with backing or training young or horses being restarted. Feel free to email at mseattlemaguire@gmail.com with a little about yourself and what you’re looking for.
EQUUS REIGNS- Taryn Brown, Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL®) programs.
What is FEEL?
Welcome to a healing modality where you partner with horses at liberty, while experiencing facilitated groundwork activities. This approach of ‘learning through doing’, helps you gain personal discoveries with a horse as your guide. As the facilitator, I create and hold space for you, and provide observations and feedback to further enhance your experience.
The foundation of this approach is emotional agility, self-awareness, self-regulation, safe and healthy boundary setting, intuitive awareness and spiritual connections.
Who is this for?
Are you looking for balance and grounding? Do you feel disconnected from your body?
Do you want to feel more connected to your heart?
Are you interested in horses but are afraid of them?
Are you experiencing anxiety or burnout?
Do you want to expand your intuition?
Do you want to experience empowered leadership?
